Trip to New York
You'll have to excuse this posting. One of the great things about having a blog is being able to write about trips, so that you can come back and look at them later and not forget what happened.
We took the subway into Times Square to watch to be a part of any riots, but I did not get a chance to overturn any cars. The po-po was out in force.

But before I get to that, there is some Captain Capitalism news. I have been talking to some folks about a show that features web shorts for Comedy Central. They are interested in running "Piggybank Pinko" on the show. So stay tuned...
This past weekend, Mandy and I went to New York. I had some meetings, and we had some family up there that we had a chance to visit over the weekend.
We flew in on Thursday. We were running late, and to add to the frustration, I was a suspected terrorist. My license was accidentally left in my pants and went through the wash. The slight warp in the license had me sequestered into a plexiglass cube, and patted down. But my frustration went away when we made our way into Jamaica Station to the sweet sounds of someone Hava Nagila on a steel drum. After checking into our hotel we went and saw The Seafarer , a really great play with some fantastic performances. After that we took a cab and had an amazing meal at Anthony Bourdain's Les Halles.
On Friday, I went and had some meetings and spent some time working on a bid with Powerhouse's New York agent, Mike Mendelsohn. I met a cousin who recently moved to the city for lunch and then returned to do some work. That night we went to "Il Cortile" which was probably the best meal I have had in little Italy. We had read about it in an article about the Sopranos, where the restaurant was said to be where the cast would have a party for cast members when they were "whacked" from the show.
On Saturday morning, we went for a run in Central Park. I over did it a bit and suffered shin splints the rest of the weekend. After running we limped arount the Met. I bumped into Washington Crossing the Delaware, while I was there...which was suprisingly huge.

That afternoon we went and saw David Pinter's The Homecoming, which starred TV's Swearengen and Lenny. It was a bizarre play, but a lot of fun with some really great acting.
On Sunday, we went to the gym and ran while watching Meet the Press and the other Sunday talk shows. Afterwards, we headed into Brooklyn and had some great soul food at Mitchell's.
We came back to the city to watch the Super Bowl at Time Out. This was probably the highlight of the trip. Sitting in a room of crazed Giant's fans in one of the best football games I have seen. When the game was over the city erupted.
